Hear from our students

“Besides the studies, what really made a big impact on me was the practical skills that I have learned during my time at CICD. These skills also helped me become more self-reliant person.
We were providing access to fresh drinking water to thousands of people and doing community mobilisation, I have done many things I never expected to do”

Danail Petrov, Bulgaria

“I did the Climate Activist programme. I studied different environmental topics that included lectures, articles, documentaries, an investigation, and practical actions in the garden. For example, we prepared the permaculture beds in the greenhouse, a pedagogical way to practice and “learn by doing” about sustainable alternatives. Also, we prepared an investigation trip around Scotland, an amazing opportunity to learn about renewable energy sources by travelling”

Margarita Barbero, Spain

“When studying at CICD I had the opportunity to develop personal and professional skills in so many ways. The concept of living in a community was a relevant part for my preparation to the project and to the world – everyone counts on everyone and I learned how to deal with difficulties that can arise at any time as a group and as an individual”
